I sit in the Peter Taylor stand and it definitely needs upgrading, although it'll still be sad to see it go, I think 45.000 is more realistic. Wolfe if we fill in the sides the mist won't roll in from the Trent as much 😅..😂
I’d like to hear Robs take.
Phase 2 don’t happen if we don’t sell out phase 1 regularly
We've got 2 clubs in our city, Notts County on the other side but I think we can mostly fill the new stadium if prices are kept affordable and we are progressing up the table
I agree with filling the corners but I'd like the river Trent to still be in view
Sorry, but this is going to take forever, the council want a new pedestrian bridge, new transport solutions etc. Also, 52,000 is not big enough. Currently the ground capacity is 32000 and there are about 22,000 on the waiting list for new season tickets. Then there are the thousands who just want match tickets.
West Ham averaged 62500 last year and we're bigger than them.
Let's move to a new site with no planning restrictions!
Council only want forest to pay for a new footbridge because the one they've put in behind rugby club was put in the wrong place.
GREETINGS FROM OHIO!
Obviously great news… We've all been dreaming about this for a long time. The City Ground is really special, but it needs to be brought into the modern age.
A new and improved City Ground isn't just good for the club, but for the city of Nottingham as well.
YOU RED'S!!!
I hope this happens I need a ticket. Forest til I die. You Reds.
Great news,COYR
still got the cost of the traffic routes to sort out which I think the club will have to pay towards then there is the small problem of the two rowing clubs they have not agreed by the sound of it regarding relocation
This is all great but where are people going to park 😮😮😮
when we knocked down the trent end years ago and put all our fans behind the goal in the bridgford, the atmosphere was incredible. Worst thing they ever did was making the trent end a family stand and giving the away fans the lower bridgford. I hope they consider things like this when they re-build. Maybe a designated area for those that want to sing with safe standing.
Don't underestimate the problems that still need to be resolved eg traffic and flooding. Decision-makers want all these issues resolved before spades in the ground. The recent footbridge cost £18m and took 17 months, so it could be a while yet before this moves tangibly. What I liked from the Committee meeting is that they confirmed the build would not impact current capacity. That must be largely thanks to the expertise of the developers who also did the upper tier at Anfield not so long ago. Re. S106 contributions. These are statutory so we have to accept it. The whole of Nottingham and surrounds will benefit economically from the increase in capacity but unfortunately Marinakis will be the one stumping up the cash. That's just the way it goes.
Theres only 1 WFCG,it will stay the same
What about the John Robertson stand.. is it being renovated.. if not , it's goin to look really silly , with the rest of the stadium.
Despite all that's said about Marinakis, in terms of money, he is very generous. He has supported humanitarian relief, hospitals in Greece, and many other community projects. He is a complex character but at heart he invests with his heart. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the one who proposed footing the bill for the transport infrastructure and the new footbridge.
We are gonna need those seats when we’re playing Barca and Madrid in next few seasons! Uredz
Someone on another firum last year, suggested river taxis from Wilford Park and Ride and Netherfield Park and Ride.
Magpies, cricket and Racecourse could use them too.
I imagine the City Ground is the pitch or park if you prefer I’m old school 😂
What year is it supposed to be completed ???
Looks absolutely amazing COYREDS!!!!!
I'm bringing my work boots, shovel and hard hat on Saturday.
Lets get started 😅🤣😂
UuuuReddddz.
We need this build badly. COYRsss
It would have been quicker and easier to have a new build somewhere else. Im at the age where I wont see this project completed in my lifetime and if I do, lord help me, I'll be over a hundred.
I am chuffed of course but it will bugger up a cracking fishing spot right behind the WFCG
We’ll all be dead by the time it’s done
Still in the believe it when I see it camp. Why haven’t the club even acknowledged it yet? Probably because they know there’s still so many obstacles to overcome which will take even more time.
In the states the city pay the club to stay there. The uk is backwards
Cannot wait!
They build it….and they will come…
Forest are going to finish 3rd? That’s a relief – I was wondering where my flying pigs had escaped to – now I know they’re at your house! Joking aside, I hope you’re right!
We really have left Derby in the past. This knew renovation to the ground is exactly what we need to truly separate out self's from the championship league, Cementing us as a Premier league club COYR
52,000 is too big. There were empty seats for the Leeds game in the league cup.
52,000 for us is far too big. If we ever go down we're doomed 😂😭
As much as I like the nostalgia of the grounds , it's a eyesore compared to its peers.
