  1. Very reasonable and wise reflections from Wolfie about our identity, style, tactics, managers and players fit for purpose. It's about who we are, and how we can makte the best outta it. Even if Wolfie never was a fan of Cooper since our first season back in PL-business, he had a very clear plan for how to build this team from the ground. Starting with MGW as the real cornerstone. Besides that it was full speed on the sides, and full power in the middle. Some players had both speed and power. Like Taiwo before he got more than less crippled. Murillo is still the same powerhouse, and he has some quality long passes too. Ideal for a speedy winger as Elanga. CHO also quite fast, and both him and Elanga could be helped from attacking Williams, or speedy Aina. And the combo Elanga/Wood was lethal.

It was in the middle of the park Coops didn't quite manage to find the right players before he got sacked. He found Danilo, and with a player as Anderson besides him we would have very strong 6 and 8 duo. The same when Murillo could team up with Milenkovic. It could been a real dream team in the making. Of course we bottled it, we're Forest, but the very idea with building a 4-2-3-1 formation with fast legs on the sides and strong bodies in the middle lives on. Because the players Coops brought in also had passing skills that made them extremly fit for purpose. There's a very long way from Coops style of play to Arteta's Arsenal. You can't fill that gap within 2-3 seasons. We're a bit off Broadway, and definately not a big 6 club. So our recruitment business need to be way smarter than the recent years. Including hiring a dude like Dyche. That's the pure antidote against building a sucessful club.

Coops wasn't about to build a forever low block style, but he had to build from what he got. And his foundation was about to be rock solid, but still not with enough dept to deal with injuries on our key players. Mr Marinakis decision to sack him was quite understandable from a short time perspective, and Nuno had a great fundament to work with. His style wasn't a true copy of Coops, but he buildt on with many of the same ideas. He transformed us to a natural 4-2-3-1 club with non-possesion as our specialty. Look att all the goals that came within 15 sec from we first touched the ball to it was in the back of the net in the 24/25 season. It was almost sensational. In a long time perspective, I think Coops could made us even better.

Now it's a new guy, new ideas, a new style without our beloved wingers and it can kinda work. Glasner is a very systematic and wise guy. Usually a slow starter that shows what his all about after some time. But it is a re-start, and all these restarts, new ideas, new formations, new philosophies ruins the unique togetherness we once had. Coops brought in his players to fit a certain style and mentality, not a bunch of guys who could play half this, half that. We're about to be a half way club that has some ideas where to go, but not the concistency to stick to one plan, one identity and one for all. I think Glasner will do OK, maybe 11-12th place, and top 10 next year. But the question will still be – is he one of us, is he our guy, is he gonna take us places, or will we need another re-start?

I suggest that we plan for the last option just in case, and hope there won't be any need for it.

  2. Ran some pre-match numbers on this fixture. The last three league meetings at this ground have all produced at least 4 cards, 6 corners and 1 goal. Nottingham Forest have picked up at least one yellow in 8 of their last 10 at home. Few home sides in this league win more corners than Nottingham Forest, ranked 1st. Nottingham Forest average 15.1 shots against sides like Tottenham, with home teams in this league usually needing about 9.7 shots per goal. A busy set of numbers for this fixture.

  3. wrexham, millwall, but top of the list has to be spurs.

if the prem is a classroom, spurs are the kid who thinks that they will pass themselves off as popular if they just sit with the genuinely popular kids. in reality though they have no charisma and no talent. can't wait to see them playing lincoln next season

  4. The two teams I really dislike in the Premier League are the same as yours. It comes from both clubs being more about money than football back in the era before money took over completely. The media seem to think we should all be focussed on these two teams. On reflection, I can kind of understand this with United in the 80s as the commentators were probably all from an era who remembered the Busby babes. My dad has no love for United but he would wax lyrical about that side. However, with Spurs it always felt completely unwarranted and unearned.

  5. Jesus= not good enough (sadly, I really wanted him to excel), Wood = done now, he’s done his time but he’s not good enough now, I feel our answer is going to be kalimuendo/delap as a far as strikers/goal opportunities come.

  6. Diomande is slow and not fit enough to be a football player . i remember in the Leeds game he tried to make a run to the offense and then he was like looking around like he was searching for a taxi passing by to bring him back to the defense

  7. I hate Liverpool , because of their entitled fans who think their team is something special , there are many fans of Liverpool in Greece who have the same mentality and i always hated them . Btw Greekfather was also a Liverpool fan before he realized that the biggest club in the world with 2 stars is Forest

  8. We have 16 games before the transfer window opens. That’s 16 games we need Sels to be fit for!
Hopefully, come January 1st, the recruitment team will be ready with a plan to go and get a GK rather than waiting until the last few days of the window; AGAIN!!
    COYR.
