  1. A structured and well balanced squad that progresses and wins games is what GLASNER is striving for. I do think that we have players who need to be released and the squad number replaced with new signings in the January window. A squad increase gives more options. Home defeats are certainly an issue that needs resolving soonest. CYR

  2. Glasner doesn't like a big squad, that was the way it worked at Palace. Possibly a risky strategy in terms of injury/fatigue with the number of games in Europe but he got away with it. He's very clever and he has himself in a win-win situation with his own contract and as one of the highest paid managers in the premiership.

  3. AY UP WOLFIE! Hope you're well.

Good to see you again… I was starting to go into withdrawal symptoms of FFTV!!!

Anyway, I've got a bit of a nightmare of a story, regarding the forest shop if anybody wants to hear it…Otherwise I'll bugger off again!

  4. He was right to hold back. He knows you cant integrate so many new players in one go. He's a steady incremental manager and I expect slow but solid progress. Unlike the zerb who bought owt without a plan, it seems!

  5. Thanks Wolfie,
I think on the whole it makes sense to wait. The only real issue I have is with not getting a GK; somehow we have ended up with John as back up and Benda who has never had any consistent game time above league 1 level. I’m very concerned about Sels getting injured but I’m sure this will quickly be sorted in January and personally I think Ramsdale is still a good choice and would be relatively cheap; he needs to get his confidence back and I think Glasner would be able to get him back to the keeper he was at Arsenal.
Glasner needs to be given time; however I’m still recovering from the Coventry result and the thing that concerned me most was Glasner saying the dressing room was very quiet before the game……so fire them up then; he should have enough experience to do that by now surely?

  6. The manager is doing what he said he’d do, build a squad and improve it if better players were available. Just signing players to appease supporters doesn’t guarantee success. Just look back at previous transfer windows and how many players signed are still around.

  7. Although I suspect a goalkeeper a young CM was on the cards I think GS assessing the current squad with hopefully healthy room to bring in players in Jan that can fill in the weaker parts of team is the best option. Quality over quantity, happy with those who came in the summer window just replicate what is needed in the winter one then push on. Good managers are afforded multiple transfer windows to put there stamp on the team and in GS we need to replicate the same.

  8. Wolfie, you need to change your mind on Ndoye. It took Sangare 2 years to realise his potential. The commentators have raved about Ndoye's performances in the Swiss team. They could not believe his speed and positioning. He not only scored but made several assists.

  9. A proper manager or coach with a promise of time would assess what he has first which i believe he is doing. Give this guy a few windows and we'll see his stamp on the team

  10. Great sign that he prioritized quality over quantity. Macca is regaining value every week and if Schlager was 16M would anybody say we got ripped off… I don’t think so he’s looked serviceable. It also means that have a better chance of getting the 40M gems instead of scattergun approaches that missed in the last couple of years.

  11. It was the right call, at first Glasner has to know the squad/every player well before he can then demand reinforcements on point where those are then needed, hasn´t he.
This first Glasner season is just a build up season not more and not less.
And to keep the moral and discipline and work ethic high and the mood good in a team is way easier with a tight squad than with an unneccessary bloated squad with permanent a handful malcontents who have to spend their time on matchday in the stands ..everybody who has to work in a leading position with a whole group of people – not only in sports but in general – knows that.

  12. Yes he did, we’re getting Anderson back and Haaland too, with the compensation that Man City will pay each Premier League Club as they buy their way out of trouble. Forest and Everton are getting the most because they were wrongly penalised.
