Slightly optimistic here, even if Villa park is almost as cryptonite as Boringmouth. Villa haven't gound their rhytm yet, and is under quite a pressure to get this season started for real. The same goes for Forest, but this is a nothing to lose game that can make us do a classic Forest thing. By winning an almost unwinable game.
I don't expect any better than a 11-12th place this season, and will be happy with a draw. But I think Wolfies tactical tip can help us to a lucky and surprising win. I go for 2-1 to Forest, with Jesus, Delap and maybe Milenkovic as our most likely goalscorers. And I would like to see a rocket from far range from Murillo again. We doesn't have much of natural goalscorers, and if Delap keeps struggling with finding the back of the net, some other guys need to step in. COYR, about time time to get our first win.
Potentially 2-0
Villa in rebuild mode, forest in (another) new manager mode..this has draw written all over it.
How about a 5 5. If anyone remembers that game?
Natural left footer on the left,Mr Netz
Had a look at the numbers on this one. At least 3 cards, 8 corners and 3 goals in each of the last three league meetings at this ground. The pattern holds at the other ground too: the last three league meetings at Nottingham Forest's ground produced at least 7 corners. Aston Villa average 14.9 shots against sides like Nottingham Forest, with home teams in this league usually needing about 9.7 shots per goal. Aston Villa give away 9.7 fouls a game at home. In this league a yellow tends to come every 6.1 f
0-0 if we are so lucky
We’re is Sangare?
I was there! Pearce and Collymore. Villa had Nigel Spink in goal.
If Cunha starts Saturday your theory about Diomande is correct. For what I saw in the cup game against Leeds is that he has the turning circle of a boat
Jesus that side is grim 😂
By his comments we’re not seeing Diomande start… and Cunha playing well I don’t even think he’ll come in when sharp… I think we just got excited for a bench player 😂
the only positive is that it's an away match
I'm not impressed by Glasner being so rigid with his 5 st the back formation. And playing 2 in midfield with what we have at the moment looks weak, . I know he has been successful but i would prefer a more flexible manager with formations to suit different situations throughout the season. The problem last season was scoring and now we have 1 less attacking player. Where are the goals coming from. I can't see how having wingbacks is going to improve our goalscoring record at the expense of our wingers. Very concerned forest fan here. Lets hope the players grasp this new formation and prove me wrong. COYR
Not feeling it lately. I can’t understand why Kale is not playing
Sorry, bottom 5 at Christmas Glasner GONE! We are going nowhere pains me to say it. HOPE I am wrong! Cmon Forest prove me wrong!!! You REDS!
What do you know about Forest, away days!? You don't even go full stop! 🦆🎯
The squad is poor and doesn't suit the formation across all positions. Even if we stick with Glasner who is clearly the most competent coach we have hired since Clough, this squad isn't troubling midtable.
You Reds
Cunha can't be dropped… just got called up t9 🇧🇷
Glasner has been to Villa Park 7 times and never lost…. but now he's in charge of "Charity Forest FC".
I don't mean to sound negative, but there'll be no prizes for guessing who is going to win this one!
(just being realistic).
Dominguez for McAtee
I think sub Murillo for Diomande
McAtee is weak
Why was medillibar sacked for ?
I don't have a clue how Glasner will put Murillo, Milenkovic, Jair and Dio into the team. Who'll start 🫣
I'd rather see murrilo AND 100 % done on the bench 100%
Villa 1 Forest 5
Up the Villa
Murillo was clearly carry significant Timber when he returned and has been slow to lose it all plus he looks gassed at times.
If dropping Milenkovic I’d put Cunha in the centre.
MGW is operating below expectations, but he’s not getting the ball played through.
Drop Ndoye play Jesus, should be as effective as the front three we were playing end of last season, even with Jesus alongside Delap with MGW sat in behind.
I am getting fed up with seeing our strikers behind play, they drop too deep. Play two alongside each other and make them occupy defenders. We’ve been dropping our forwards deep for far too long. With a back 3 we can have 5 in midfield for an overload when needed, 5 in defence with 2-3 in front when required so why are both dropping to our own third…???!!!
Can't you get a press pass?
The ref at Villa park will be Andy Madley, remember him? – In our first season back in the prem under Steve Cooper, he was the ref in our match v ManU when McGuire deliberately handled the ball in the pen area from a Renan Lodi corner. The pen was not given and VAR did not intervene. McGuire, already on a yellow card by that point should also have been sent off
Villa very physical so McAtee in right ten with MGW keft and Dominguez midfield with Schlager, Netz and Williams wingbacks, Munoz on as sub on 60 mins, COYR
Big respect to Forest I obviously hope Villa will win but regardless of the result you're in good hands with Glasner wish you the best of luck for the rest of the season though top club top fans.
Nico needs to stay on his feet for a while, he has been "diving" a few times, so. He is under scrutiny and that is not good news.
Diomande will be fit in time for Wrestelmania. i would try Munoz instead of Ndoye and MGW to the left, if this formation works for us will be ideal , Munoz can help both in offense and defense
0 0
Marinakis fired Medilibar, i hope he is warming up for Glasner too.
Last win at villa in Prem was 1994, Stone and Pearce with the goals. I watched it on a big screen at the City Ground. Not sure if we won there in the championship though?
N’Doye is not a right sided player, put him on the left
The VP hoodoo will sadly continue.
the only way we can win is by Villa being tired, thats it
Murillo out of shape I feel
We must finally win a game, COYR
